Angel Hair Pasta Chicken
This is a thick, cheesy sauce recipe to serve over angel hair pasta.
What You Need:
4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
1/2 C margarine
1 (1.05 oz.) pkg. Italian salad dressing mix
1 (11 oz) can golden mushroom soup
1/2 C white wine
1 (4 oz) pkg. onion and chive cream cheese
1 (8 oz) pkg. angel hair pasta
How to Make It:
In a small saucepan over low heat melt the margarine.
Add the soup and wine.
Stir in the salad dressing and cream cheese.
Continue to stir continuously until the cream cheese has completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
Place chicken breasts in a large (6 qt.) crock pot
Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
Cook the angel hair pasta according to package directions.
Serve the chicken and sauce over the pasta.
Tips:
This recipe is a favorite. If you’re not an angel hair pasta lover, it can be served over spaghetti or other types of noodles too.

Sounds great. I will certainly give it a try soon. Please join me for Crock Pot Wednesday this week at Dining With Debbie.
this looks delicious–HOWEVER–we are not a mushroom family, any suggestions on subs for the golden mushroom soup??
thanks!!
I don’t mean to complain, but could you put a post it on your monitor to help you to remember to say what size the pot should be? I have a smaller crock pot, and I sometimes buy the ingredients for a meal only to find out that it’s too much for my small crock pot to handle
.
I don’t see the size of the crock pot on this recipe; but with all the liquids involved, I’m guessing it’s a 6 qt pot, right? I also wish you would say how many servings each recipe makes. I love the recipes, otherwise
. They always seem healthy and tasty!
Melanie- I’m sure it would be just as tasty with Cream of Chicken soup.
Can anyone suggest a substitute for the wine? Think I could just use chicken stock?
Brenda, Yes, the wine is optional and you could substitute with chicken stalk.
Fabulous Receipe….I didn’t have white wine and used red instead and it was the hit of the week.
@gail – Thanks for the feedback. I’m glad this recipe was such a hit with your family.
Can I leave out the wine?
@Mel – You can certainly substitute the wine with chicken broth or water, but don’t just leave it out as the sauce may be too thick.
I just want to say that this is one of my fam’s new FAVORITES! I use salt free chicken broth in place of the wine. There are never and leftovers.
I have seen this recipe before and other reviews suggest adding fresh mushrooms. Has anyone tried that? How many mushrooms and at what point in the cooking process? I don’t want to mess up a tasty dish…
can you share some gluten free crock pot recipes???
I too made this for a large group. Instead of the crock pot, I cut up the chicken into bite size pieces and layed them all out on a cookie sheetpan. I mixed all of the ingredients together (cream sauce) and when chicken was done in like 20 minutes, I mixed them together, cooked the noodles and sprinkled a little parsley on top.
If you really want a blast, add a handful of fresh chopped basil and sliced button mushrooms, if you like mushrooms that is. It was soooo goood.
